About

Hello! I am a first-year Mechanical Engineering Master's student. In addition to my coursework, I have multiple years of project and leadership experience as well as internship experience in the industry. This is my website portfolio meant to expand on some of the projects I've worked on as well as elaborate more on what I've done during my work experiences in order to supplement my resume and communicate to potential employers my skills and abilities. It's also a place where I can share some other aspects of myself that may not be seen through a resume. 

During my time as a mechanical engineering student at UCSD, I consistently demonstrated a relentless pursuit of excellence in both my academic studies and extracurricular involvement. As a Jacobs School Scholar, a merit-based, full-ride scholarship given to only around 10 students each year, I have consistently maintained a high GPA while actively participating in various engineering clubs and projects.

What sets me apart from my peers is my years of hands-on engineering experience starting with my involvement with Triton Robotics, a project-based student organization, where I learned to work with a large team as well as lead a smaller sub-team on top of learning the more intricate aspects of design, such as tolerancing and manufacturing considerations. These skills were developed further through my internships at Girton Manufacturing and Solar Turbines, where I was introduced to a formal design and manufacturing process as well as skills like FEA and CFD as well as introduced to product development and lifecycle development. 

In addition to my academic training, technical abilities, and hands-on experience I bring to the position strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills I have gained from leading a sub-team in Triton Robotics, being the project manager for a consulting project with a local company, and leading my senior design project team where we received the runner-up project award out of the entire graduating MAE class at UCSD.

In my free time, I like to read, listen to music, and watch movies. My favorite types of media are experimental types of art like experimental hip-hop and experimental film. I enjoy this genre of art the most because it is usually extremely unique and engaging with it creates experiences like no other. Some of my favorite artists who produce experimental music are The Microphones, Death Grips, Ichiko Aoba, and MF DOOM. I would highly recommend checking out all of these artists. I also enjoy watching films quite a lot. Anytime a movie can convey a meaningful theme or present it in a very unique and attention-grabbing way, I automatically become a fan of it. Some of my favorite movies that have really amazed me are House (1977), Stalker (1979), Ritual (2000), End of Evangelion (1997), Taste of Cherry (1997), Drive My Car (2021), and Fantastic Planet (1973).  I would also highly recommend watching these movies.

I like to try to edit videos in my free time as well. I say try because I am still relatively new to video editing and am not the best at it. It also takes a lot of time to make a good edit, which I usually do not have during the school year, but it is something I would like to spend more time on to get better at because finishing a good edit and seeing the final product is very rewarding.
